Kaiken Ultra Malbec's grapes are sourced from both the Valle de Uco (Vistaflores, Altamira and Gualtallary) and the First Zone (Agrelo, Vistalba) regions of Mendoza. Here, soils are sandy loam, providing ideal conditions for growing Malbec. Plants are trained to the vertical shoot positioning system and yield an average of seven and a half tonnes per hectare. Most of the vines were planted prior to 1970 in vineyards 1,000 metres above sea level.
Kaiken Ultra Malbec is a brilliant, deep ruby-red, with a wonderful display of rich aromas. The nose is enticing and spicy with black fruit aromas of blueberries and blackberries. Good structure and soft tannins lead to a finish that is fresh, complex, and long, with fruit notes and subtle undertones of rosemary, thyme, and dry flowers.
